Prima Ballerina Ashley Bouder Announces Retirement from New York City Ballet
Ashley Bouder, one of New York City Ballet's most dynamic and celebrated principal dancers, has announced her retirement from the company after an illustrious 23-year career. The renowned ballerina will take her final bow at Lincoln Center on May 5, 2024, performing in George Balanchine's 'Symphony in C.'
Bouder, who joined the company in 2000 at age 16 and became a principal dancer by 2005, has been celebrated for her technical precision, powerful jumps, and magnetic stage presence. Throughout her career, she has performed leading roles in countless classical and contemporary works, including signature performances in 'Swan Lake,' 'The Nutcracker,' and numerous Balanchine masterpieces.
